Industrial visit by students of Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School, Deon

          
Students of 10+2 Commerce, Baba Farid Senior Secondary School, Deon visited various industries to get the knowledge about their working. The visit was organized by Mr. Shashi Kant Sharma (HOD, Commerce), Ms. Mandeep Kaur (Lect. in Commerce), Ms. Prem Lata (Lect. in Maths) and Ms. Rattna Bansal (Lect. in Computer) who accompanied the students. Students were taken to Kaushalya Plastic Industry (E5), Kanswal Industry (E2), Vinod Product (B5), where they got much knowledge. Students got to know about how the marketing is being done in Industry or how the various products are being manufactured in the factories. Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, honourable Managing Director, BFGI, praised the efforts put by Commerce Department. Principal Mr. Baljinder Singh and Ms. Navninder Kaur Dhillon (Vice Principal) also applauded this endeavour and the said that such efforts will be continuously done to enhance the knowledge of students.

Educational Trip to All India Radio, Bathinda

As a part of its endeavor to impart practical knowledge to students in terms of Industry visits BFGI organized an educational trip for the students of Class 12th of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School to All India Radio, Bathinda . Under the efficient supervision of the executives of AIR they visited different sections of All India Radio. The educational visit provided a great learning experience to the students. In the end, the students were briefed on various topics ranging from internship procedure to placement in the respective organization.

An extension lecture on the topic “Standing wave and Doppler Effect”

An extension lecture on the topic “Standing wave and Doppler Effect” was organized by Physics department; Baba Farid Senior Secondary School to enlighten the students of class 11th on this subject. The lecture was delivered by Ms. Anita, Lecturer in Physics at Baba Farid College. Students took keen interest in the lecture. The facts on the topic were presented before the students in an interesting way. Students asked questions from the resource person which were answered by her to the utmost satisfaction of the students. A token of honor was presented to Ms. Anita by Ms. Rajni Batla, HOD, Physics and Ms. Lakhwinder Kaur, Lecturer in Physics of Baba Farid Senior Secondary School.

A Painting Competition in Commemoration of Mother's Day

Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School, Deon, with an aim to develop all around personality of the students organized a Painting Competition on the occasion of  'Mother's Day'. This competition was arranged by Ms. Geeta Arora, Head of Competitive Studies. Near about 28 students participated in the competition. All the participants showed their creativity through various paintings. Principal Baljinder Singh congratulated on Mother's Day to all the students and appreciated all the paintings. All the participants not only painted the pictures related to Mother's Day but also presented their hidden emotions, love and respectful feelings for mothers through various colours and beautiful quotations. They gave message through their paintings that children should also be responsible for their mothers and no one can take place of mother in a child's life. Ravneet Kaur of 10+2 MCQ bagged 1st Position, Ramandeep Kaur 2nd and Jaspinder Kaur & Manwinder Kaur shared 3rd Position.

Celebration of World no Tobacco day

Baba Farid is a leading educational institutions in Malwa region it is the utmost principle of the school is not only to shape its students in educational field , but also to shape them as good citizens . To make our efforts a success, we assigned various tasks to students. World no Tobacco day was celebrated in Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School Deon by Social Welfare Department of school. A number of well known personalities attended the function. Leading of them were Dr. Inderjeet Singh Sran In-charge of blood bank, Dr. Dharampal Singh Sekhon District Health Officer Bathinda , Dr. Vinod Kumar SMO, Civil Hospital, Bathinda.  Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University oh Health Sciences Dr. Shaminder Singh Gill presided over the function as chief guest. The various dignitaries gave their very valuable and notable views regarding drugs, blood donation, environment, female Foeticide etc. On this occasion a play was also played by the students under the valuable craft hands of Mr.Tony Batish. The play was very much heart rending and praised by all the guests and visitors Amneet Kaur student of 10+2 Non-Medical presented a poem in which the side effects of drugs were told. The result of painting competition, slogan writing and letter writing were announced. Hon’ble S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of Baba Farid Group of Institutions announced the numbers of teachers and students who signed the declaration letters among them 15 students and 3 teachers donated their bodies. We salute them and their families for this great sacrifice, 238 students and 18 teachers signed the eye donation declaration form, 383 students and 32 teachers signed anti – dowry declaration form, 589 students and 41 teachers signed the declaration form to keep the environment pollution free, 555 students and 33 teachers signed the form against female foeticide, 590 students and 41 teachers signed anti-drug addiction letter. At this occasion M.D. sir told that in Baba Farid institute students are not only provided the educational degrees but also awarded with the degrees of humanity.

Poster Making Competition

A poster making competition was conducting by Baba Farid Sr. Sec. School under the supervision of Ms. Swarndeep Kaur and Mrs. Geeta Arora on 7th May 2010. This competition was held to make the students aware of the social problems. The competition was on the current topics like Global Warming, Female Foeticide and Drug Addiction. The student showed great enthusiasm in taking part of in competition. 18 students took part in this competition. The posters made by all the students were praised worthy. The students showed their Awareness and Talent through the poster. The competition was neck to neck but poster made by Palveer Kaur on the topic female foeticide was very much heart touching and she got first position. The second position was obtained by Gurraj Singh, he showed the side effects of drug addiction in his poster and third position was secured by Ramandeep Kaur and Hussanveer Singh on the topic female foeticide and global warming respectively. The competition ended with great appreciation. The students were praised and encouraged by all the teachers and Principal Mr. Baljinder Singh.
